I feel stuck. I'm 24 living in my parents house. No friends...I mean ZERO, NADA. No social skills. Social anxiety all my life. I feel like I can never catch up to the ever speeding train let alone reverse its course. I don't no where to start or what area to address first because I see so much that I missed and feel so much that I am lacking. I know this story is toxic, but its the only one I got. I know there are better stories, but I choose to ignore them. What the **** am I saying. I know exactly what Im saying. Why? I've thought about Thailand Muay Thai camp, China Kung Fu camp, ayauasca retreat, workaway, but I always think overthink, imagining how things can go wrong. Where do I go? What do I do? I want friends. I want to connect. I want to evolve.

See your doctor, It sounds like you may be experiencing a manic episode. Doctors can diagnose this condition after doing other tests to rule out organic problems. There is hope, slow down and take a breath, As Jesus said for all the worrying people do, can they even extend their life for even a moment?  My suggestion would be to ask God for guidance and help.  Why not go straight to the creator with your questions?
Asking the universe will not help. The universe was made by God for man. God loved man so much he created him in his own image and with his breath gave man life. So my philosophical friend, eliminate the middle man (the universe) and go straight to our creature. He is waiting for your call and is a very good listener and problem solver. Here is his number:  In the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Begin there then ask him directly for assistance.  Jesus told us that whatever is asked for in his name shall be given.  God bless you and I pray that the Holy Spirit enlightens your part in life and gives you peace. Your friend, papasmurf, A.K.A. Rick B.

I've struggled with anxiety (social anxiety and general anxiety), and depression, and there's been a lot of improvement for me. I've been taking anti-depressant medications. Also I've been doing the 12 Steps of Emotions Anonymous. Part of my continued healing is that I share with others the solution. The 12 Steps of EA are:

1: We admitted we were powerless over our emotions--that our lives had become unmanageable.
2: We came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
3: We made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.
4: We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
5: We admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
6: We were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
7: We humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
8: We made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all.
9: We made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
10: We continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.
11: We sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
12: Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
And there's an additional principle of recovery: We offered forgiveness to those who had hurt us.

Emotions Anonymous, a fellowship of people recovering from emotional problems like anxiety, depression and anger.

My story can be found here:

I’ve also been involved with a fellowship called Celebrate Recovery, a fellowship of people recovering from all kinds of hurts, hang-ups and habits. To find a group:

May peace be with you,

Hi! I hope you're feeling better. I know that overthinking is a really common thing. It happens to everyone all the time. But sometimes I do believe that we have to try and let go and just do what we feel like doing. Don't stress yourself up.  Sometimes I overthink as well. But as long as you're aware of it, you are already getting somewhere.  Don't worry too much on the things you can't control. Go with the flow. :)

Social skills is something that we can all build. I am an introvented person myself. If you like to try talk to people, maybe you can try penpalling. Like what is the harm in trying? I know that it sounds a little old fashion and stuff but at least, you are striking a conversation with someone. And if you're new to it or if you get awkward around people, good thing is that you don't have to response immediately. :)
