2 and a half years ago my dad commited suicide when I was 18. I started smoking weed soon after that and it developed into an addiction and before I knew it 2 years later I was blowing money like no tomorrow, talking about god knows what kind of weird conspiracy theories, and was getting messages from the TV and Radio. I also smoked weed with my girlfriend every day and spent about 50$ a day. She was verbaly and physically abusive and tore off my windshield wiper at one point. soon after I realized I needed help and my family took me to the hospital. I was diagnosed with a drug induced psychosis and put on anti psychotics. My family then decided I needed to move out of my girlfriends house and live alone in a small bedroom with a single bed in an empty house. I started having bad dreams and severe shaking anxiety and was admitted to the hospital again. This time I was diagnosed with Depression. I am now on wellbutrin anti depressants and not recieving any good counselling. I feel continuously lonely, scared, and as if I dont know who I am anymore or what I like to do for fun. I would just smoke weed and do different things with my girlfriend for entertainment. I have 1 friend who lives in toronto but I feel isolated in the outskirts of brampton. I go to college and have been for the past 2 years but I have made almost no friends.I also spent 4 years in a foster home and was very successful and had motivation and accomplished almost everything I set out to do.  The friends I did make were people I smoked weed with every day and no longer talk to because thats the only thing we had in common. How can I find new ways to have fun, socialize with people my own age, and possibly figure out who I am now without drugs or alcohol, and get my motivation and confidence back?

You have great talent to be a very successful young man! Just envision what you want yourself to be in 5 years. What do you stand for??

Take little steps! Talk to someone who seems friendly enough. Even if you only exchange a few words, it will give you confidence to persevere. Smile at people for no reason. People like smiling people. Little by little, let yourself live again.
