So my mom told me today that she talked to someone about why I’ve been struggling so much and so unhappy. I had asked to switch schools awhile ago and she said to think about it. Well when she was talking to the person she said she realized that I do better in a mature environment, hence why I am having the hardest time at school, an why I can’t even make it through one rehearsal for my show without crying. And the person she talked to said that their daughter took the proficiency exam and left high school early and went to some junior colleges then got into a private school and is now a successful costume designer. My mom said we could look into what it takes to take the test and talk about it more. But if I do that, that means no graduation, no prom, no football games, no basketball anymore. I just I don’t know what to do. I can’t stay at the school because I wan to kill myself every time I’m there but I don’t want to leave and miss out. I just need some advice. Please.

hi

lets look at if you did leave and got into a college - how confident are you that that would help things? is there a chance you'd still feel like you are feeling?id hate for you to follow that path and it offer no real change for you.

what makes you so unhappy at the minute? lets understand that first and then we can give an opinion on what you should think about.

there are several things to consider here

1. can you stay put and tackle whats making you unhappy?

2. move schools

3. try for a college

each have merits and im sure the fact that youre considering options 2 and 3 means this isnt a new problem for you.

it sounds like youve got some great things on at school right now as you list in your email, so it's not all bad for you. please do explain whats going on to make you unhappy and we'll take it from there.
