The glass girl was pristine, she was ornate, most of all, she was beautiful. Everyone who laid eyes on her agreed: she was something special.
Light would catch her smooth, lustrous skin, dancing across it's silvery surface, throwing off festivals of colour. Glossy whorls pooled on her face, sculpting her cheekbones, neatly shaping each feature, each detail delicately carved, perfect. The glass girl moved like a whisper, daintily flowing from place to place. When she laughed her lips parted to reveal neat rows of diamond teeth, glinting as her tinkling voice chimed out through the air. Aesthetically, she was flawless, leaving others spellbound by her twinkling gaze and softly glowing aura.
But the glass girl wasn't perfect, and when she was grasped too tightly, began to fracture, spidery cracks warping her fine features.
One small gust of wind and the glass girl shattered into one million tiny pieces. Beautiful. Broken.

The stone girl was not beautiful like the glass girl. She was dull and weathered, her skin tired and worn. Her features were bold and chunky, arranged as if by accident. The stone girl's hair was sparse and mossy, untidy clumps sprouting messily all over her pale and washed out skin. She moved in weary thumps, dragging her heavy feet, hunched over, weighed down by hefty arms. Her voice too crashed, down on others ears, gravely and tough. So tough indeed that she dared not utter a syllable. Shy lonely and mute, the stone girl faded into the background, crumbling from the inside out.

an interesting piece!

i think we all feel varying proportions of each scenario (and everything in between) throughout our lives. We can be bright and sparkly and fun loving to those observing us, but feel strangely hollow and a bit lost on the inside. All we can hope for is a strong inner belief at the very core of who you are which CAN be relied upon and will not change, no matter whether you're a glass or stone girl.

keep that spiritual(?) DNA of yours close at hand as that's the message running through you and appears in everything you do or say. Hopefully over time, this nucleus of clarity will grow and grow and overwhelm the rest of you (and us all). That will be a very happy day and the glass & stone girl will become one. You.
