I have a lot of history with a girl im very interested in (and i think shes interested in me).  We're very close friends and joke about how we'll marry in the future (i say joke but its often talked about in a very real way).  We're not technically committed to each other but this weekend i made a mistake by getting too drunk and sleeping with someone else.  Ever since, ive felt totally empty and alone and like ive betrayed her in every sense, though im not sure i should feel that bad!?  I texted her telling her this morning looking for reassurance and shes yet to text back.  Would you have done what i did in this situation?  Would it have been better to keep it quiet for fear of hurting her knowing if she found out she could be even more hurt?  I don't even know if she is upset cos she hasnt text back yet of course...

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but if I it were me personally I'd rather know the truth. In my mind, everybody makes mistakes. Lying about it however is refusal to take responsibility. I wouldn't want to be with someone I didn't feel I could trust because how would I ever know what else they might do? Granted, some mistakes break trust on their own, but poor judgement is a lot better than deceit as long as you're willing to take full ownership of what happened.

Your not with this girl in a commited relationship so you have done nothing wrong, dont feel bad, we have all slept with someone we later lived to regret, we are only human, you didnt cheat on her so no drama.

I can tell you like this girl alot which is lovely, go round and talk to her, tell her what happend and why it happened, she will have made mistakes too and should understand if your honest with her.

Perhaps this is the time you eventually commit to each other? wouldnt that be lovely! In my oppinion you did'nt have to tell her but you did because of the feelings that you had after the event, she should feel quite flattered by it, i would :) Good honest friends are hard to find :)

Stop txting and pick up the phone and SPEAK to her, failing that get on your bike and go speak to her! xx

Much love
