I am asking for advice,  I am lost. I live with my step family and they are ver hard people to live with. They are different culture to us. My mum married my step dad and everything was fine until the step dad children came to live with us. My step dad changed and gives us hard time with his children.  They haven't reached a year yet but they seem to know everything and feel on top on everything.  My mum, sister and I are getting very affected by this. I am their first enermy in the house. They will talk about me every time. . Every thing I do is wrong.  One of my step dad children ( girl) goes to the same school with me. She makes it difficult for me to find friends ofr have friends.  If I find friends they leave me because of what she says about me. I am tired of everything she does.  Some times I blame myself with what I have done. I trusted her and I thought she is my sister.  I guess enemies can come from your own house.  Please help me on what to do. I am getting depressed.  :'(

A difficult situation I am sure. Understand that people act out when they are unsure of themselves and/or their situation. So you can know that the new environment is troubling for your new step siblings. Does this help resolve anything? Maybe not, but it does allow you to understand "why". Realize that your greatest power lies in your own confidence. From your writing, it is obvious you are very bright and insightful. This and other things are your gifts. These things you will take with you into the world and make a pleasing life for yourself. Until that time, what others say about you means nothing ... your opinion of yourself is all that matters. And, often, once we stop playing by others rules, they often calm down. But not always, not something to count in. Also, speak privately with your mum on occasion. Let her know you love her, and about your frustrations. See how she handles it. She may be able to help, and you help her. Best wishes, be strong
