Doubting my relationship and feelings but I don't want to be hated....What do I do?

I have been with my partner for just over 3 years.  We got engaged last year and I currently live with him at his parents house.  Recently I have become unhappy within the relationship.  I feel like im invisible! We haven't had sex in over a month.  I feel like when I talk about it, then it becomes forced which is not what I want.  I'm scared that I don't want the same things anymore like marriage, house together and a family. I am only 22 and I feel trapped.  His parents love me and treat me like a daughter I am terrified that everyone will hate me for feeling this way.  I have also been talking to someone else which I know isn't the best way to deal with this but he is someone I can talk to.  I don't know what to do and it's tearing me up inside.  We are planning our wedding and have booked stuff. What do i do???

Ah, as someone once wisely told me, "David, you already know what to do." However, in the interest of searching out all possibilities there may be something going in in his life which is taking near all his attention. As well, getting out of parents house in the future may improve the situation. However, if you remain unhappy, that unhappy will just increase in the future and you'll be hurting him more then than if you cut the relationship off early. As well, Johnny Depp once stated that its impossible to love two people equally at the same time. The second is loved more. If this wasn't true, there would have been no need to go out looking again. I know, Johnny Depp isn't the epitome of success in the reltionship arena :) nor is he in the field. But if you think about it, it kind of makes sense. Now ... final thing ... this is based on hormones and is a scientific fact. After the first six months of a relationship, both partners hormones adjust and the relationship goes into second stage. In other words, long term. It isn't nearly as exciting, passionate etc. And many relationships break up because of this. In my opinion, if the people are true friends behind the passionate exciting stuff, they are in store for lifetime of happiness together. If there isnt much beyond the exciting stuff, there's no foundation for the relationship. Something to consider. Good luck with this, much success to you both.

Hello dear, it sounds like you're really scared! I can understand why you might be feeling so scared. Getting married is a pretty big deal. It's spending all the rest of your nights with this one other person, which may be less exciting. Making such a committment to someone is a huge sacrifice.  Give yourself some credit here.

I've had several friends that went through something similar so I can suggest something. if you reaaallllyyy don't want to marry this person, do the best thing for yourself and explain to your partner that you're not ready for this step. If you marry him when  you really don't want to, you may carry resentments into your marriage, which won't be fair to your partner or you.

Either way, if you're having doubts about the relationship or if you feel like your voice isn't being heard, it's probably fair to let your partner in on this. Maybe you'll feel better just giving voice to your concerns.

I bet you know deep down what you gotta do, but it's all just so scary. It's going to be okay! Breathe! Please keep us posted. :)
