All I want is to go home, but I don't have one, and can't get one without help. No one I know can help me.

Question

I was the only income in my family, but the bipolar got too bad for me to work. I filed for disability, but they won't approve it. When unemployment ran out, we lost our home. We've bounced from family member to family member, as they can't stand the burden any longer and tells us to move on. We have to be out by Friday, but there's nowhere to go now, and no funds to change that. If we go to a shelter, DFS will take my children, but what choice do I have? Everything seems so hopeless. If I were dead, there would at least be my survivor benefits to provide for my family. It wouldn't be much, but it would be enough to maintain a place to stay.

My name is Mike, and I have experienced Bi-polar disorder first hand.  One of my very best friends suffered from this disease and almost lost his life because of it.  The first thing to understand is that you aren't crazy, but you do have a disease that affects your mental health.  I think it's important for you to seek out treatment.  You have to decide to take action and fight for you!  I've left a link below that can help you find treatment.  They might be able to help your family stay somewhere while you get treatment.  Remember that the wake doesn't drive the ship.  Your past doesn't have to control your future.

The Farmer's Donkey: A Fable for Our Time

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out a way to get him out. Finally he decided it was probably impossible and the animal was old and the well was dry anyway, so it just wasn't worth it to try and retrieve the donkey. So the farmer asked his neighbors to come over and help him cover up the well. They all grabbed shovels and began to shovel dirt into the well.

At first, when the donkey realized what was happening he cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement, he quieted down and let out some happy brays. A few shovel loads later, the farmer looked down the well to see what was happening and was astonished at what he saw. With every shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was shaking it off and taking a step up. (Shifting)

As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he continued to shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, to everyone's amazement, the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and trotted off!

Moral: Life is going to shovel dirt on you. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Every adversity can be turned into a stepping stone. The way to get out of the deepest well is by never giving up but by shaking yourself off and taking a step up.

What happens to you isn't nearly as important as how you react to it.

Dear to whom it concerns I have prayed for you to gain all you need so have faith and it will be so. Also any time you need help ask God and he can answer and or do what you ask of him. Because it really is true ask and you shall receive. Just like the bible says.
